Design Sprint is a short, one studio session to explore the design process with a product of your own design with coaching. We’ll provide you the framework, materials for sketching and prototyping, and guidance for this hands-on project.
Design Coach: Khue Dao
UI/UX designer + researcher
A UI/UX designer and researcher with a Master’s in Human-Computer Interaction and UX, along with Applied AI and Machine Learning, from Drexel University. With a background in Industrial Design, this has shaped Khue’s approach with digital products through a human-centered, systems-thinking lens. Khue’s experience include designing in edtech, the insurance industry, and social media, and is currently based in Philadelphia; working closely with local older adult and immigrant communities through participatory research and co-design projects.

What to expect:
Part 1 focuses on the design process and practice of using tools. Designers will utilize the design (thinking) process to produce a product with in-studio guidance and reviews, practice sketching/drawing and tufting equipment
Part 2 focuses on the production of a tufted piece (measuring up to 28 × 28 inches)
Duration: This is for two 2-hour sessions
Materials: On-site tufting tools, yarn, adhesive, and backing
Studio Capacity: Maximum of three (3) designers
