What's the Day?

Young designers will design a calendar. Designers will discuss how we tell the time of day, month, and year; sketch their own ideas for a “calendar,” and create their own ways of organizing the year.

School Age Studio is available on select School District of Philadelphia (SDP) half-days/early dismissals and full days off, we offer a hands-on, project-based design workshop that allows students to be designers in a studio. Students will learn the design process through activities and exercises to design and build a project individually and/or as a team. Each studio introduces how we see design everywhere and projects based on one or more design disciplines.

FULL DAY* OFFERINGS are broken up into three parts of the day, in case you need some of the day or all of the day.

• Morning Pass 9:30am-12:30pm

• Half-Day Pass 12:30-3:30pm

• Extended Care Pass 3:30-5:30pm

*If your student(s) is staying for a full-day, they must bring lunch. We cannot provide lunch at this time.

STUDIO FEE + INFORMATION

• $45 Half-Day: 9:30am-12:30pm or 12:30-3:30pm or

  • All materials included

  • Includes a snack

• $20 Extended Care: 3:30-5:30pm

  • All attendees encouraged to bring a snack during Extended Care

• For Full Days: Students must bring their own lunch.

• Each studio has a maximum of 10 students

• Instructors are design professionals of varied disciplines

• Pick-up option available to Moffet Elementary School

Must register 48 hours prior to studio to be admitted. Any available seats within the 48 hours prior to studio starting will include a surcharge of $5-$15 per pass.
